• What kinds of animals will I see living near Big Lake?

    You’ll catch sight of swans, eagles, falcons and more with over 235 bird species inhabiting the area. Larger animals such as moose, deer and foxes are often spotted, while Big Lake is ripe with fish.

  • Aside from a lot of nature, what am I close to?

    Pretty much everything you can think of. Like a proper city slicker, you can pick up your morning coffee at Tim Hortons and gas up at Shell just five minutes from home. You can find the Enjoy Centre a five-minute drive away, featuring a bakery, food market, wine store and the Glasshouse Bistro and Café. And coming soon is Bellevue Village, a retail location currently being planned, will soon join the Enjoy Centre with restaurants, a grocery store and other retail amenities. In the meantime, a ten-minute drive to St. Albert will get you to various grocery stores while the Yellowhead and Winterburn Costco locations are within a 15-minute drive.

    Amongst the natural beauty of Trumpeter, you’ll soon find commercial tenants across from Urban Village Park, including a pizza shop, daycare, and convenience store.

  • What are the school options for my kids?

    Nature is a great teacher, but definitely not the only one you need. School bus services are provided to families in Trumpeter, serving the following schools:

    All of these schools are 20 minutes or less from Trumpeter. Kids from Trumpeter are also able to attend schools in St. Albert. However, St. Albert school buses do not serve Edmonton communities. For more information visit St. Albert Public Schools and St. Albert Catholic Schools.

If golf isn’t your sport, head over to the Akinsdale and Kinex arenas with ice rinks open year-round for skating or hockey and dry areas for lacrosse and ball hockey. Work out, swim, run or train at Servus Credit Union Place, a multi-use recreational centre just 12 minutes away in St. Albert.
